Andrew Paulson, Founder, Technical Lead
Andrew has over 18 years of experience designing, developing and implementing web
sites and Internet applications for a variety of Fortune 1000 and not for profit
organizations.
Andrew started his career as Harvard University's inaugural Web Master. While there
he was responsible for developing policies regarding support, maintenance and configuration
of departmental/club/school web sites. He also setup a weather station and integrated
the data into the Harvard web site. Additionally, he developed a complete scheduling
and logging web application that was used campus wide. This application allowed
students to schedule help using the campus network. It also allowed the computer
help consultants to track and log meeting times, status reports, and schedule availability.
In 1995, Andrew founded NewVantage, Inc., an "on-time, on-budget, on-target" web-solutions
consulting company in Cambridge, MA. Under his leadership as President/CTO,
NewVantage was responsible for developing web application projects with such companies
as Staples, Sapient, Boston.com, Dunkin Donuts, Harvard University, and GE Capital.
Andrew led the company for 5 years to a point where it employed about 35 people
and was doing several millions of dollars of business a year.
After selling NewVantage, Andrew became the CTO for an Internet-based financial
startup company, AssetStream, Corp. based in Woburn, MA. While there he was responsible
for all aspects of technology at AssetStream including designing and setting up
the local area network with 30 nodes, architecting the hosting solution which utilized
Java, Sun Netra T1 servers, and Oracle, and overseeing the design and development
of their Java based financial application.
Currently, Andrew is the Founder and President of SilverSwitch Consulting, Inc.
where for the last 13 years he has continued his previous consulting initiatives.
He has developed dynamic web sites and data driven applications for clients ranging
from small Non-Profits and artists to large organizations such as Harvard and New
York University.
